A road and concrete pavement against a backdrop of a lamppost and the image of a building corner presents the racing-city bike collection. A raw metal and planked staircase leads you to the first floor which showcases the kids collection suspended on metal rails against the backdrop of a stripped brick wall. There is also an assembly area-service centre on the first floor, which houses the storage facility and where customer's bikes are serviced or accessorized before them.
The brief was to make the store as spacious as possible and hence the decision to suspend the products or position them off the floor. This has kept the floor space clear for customers to get a feel of the bikes.
The stripped brick walls impart a sense of rawness to the space and also helped keep the costs under control, another element of the brief. This rawness has been contrasted with the use of metal for suspending the bikes, the stair case and the main girder. The metal elements were also flamed and tampered to enhance the contrast. The use of wood in trims adds warmth and freshness to the space
The raw space serves to give Firefox a unique retail identity, forms a perfect backdrop for the colourful and slick products and serves to keep the costs down!
